There are days when it seems like God moves and it's easy to see, but then there are days when everything is quiet and you wonder what the silence is all about. Last night there was a terrible accident in Philadelphia. An Amtrak train crash that killed at least 6 people and injured more than 100 is filling the TV news broadcasts. We are all wondering if it could be, you know. . . a terrorist attack. Nobody's talking about it and there certainly is careful speculation, but the question mark is there.
There are terrible storms in Texas. Tornados that are crashing through towns and cities and totally destroying everything in their path. And we wonder?
I'm reminded of a verse in Hosea where God is speaking and He says basically; "I brought you out of Egypt with a mighty hand and led you through the wilderness feeding and caring for you and you were safe and prospered but then you became haughty and arrogant and forgot Me."
So, today people pray and mourn and cry out to the Lord. Many were thanking God for His protective hand and safety and the final analysis? When it's all said and done - things are only things and people are what is important! Lives and living is what we are made to do! It's really about being who God made us to be and being prepared from the core out to face the challenges and situations. People are only heroes when they have a heart that is engaged in life. That's when we see God at work!
Be a hero today for someone!
